Annette came out for a long overdue visit and was kind enough to take some potential Christmas photos. Yes, I did make us put on matching outfits and I drove us to a home and garden shop (thank you, Allisonville Nursery!) to take these shots. Cheesy, yes. But have you seen a family more ready for the front of a mass-mailed Christmas card?

You’d think, from the look of things, that Life At 30 is calm, relaxed, laid-back, and under control. I know, I know. We make it look so easy. Happy Birthday, Christopher darling. I love you, and you are the most wonderful father and husband a family could ask for. And you don’t look a day over 29…

We celebrated the baptism of Stephen Crony (Emily’s second cousin) and combined the happy event with a work-related day at the St Louis Zoo. That’s right, we spent an entire day at the zoo and there isn’t a single photo to show for it. It was rainy and yucky (and Emily was stuck in a day-long workshop on zoo math), but the rest of the weekend was beautiful. We touched a bunch of plants, saw some beautiful glass, spent fun time with family, and enjoyed our baby, as fussy and nap-resistant as he was. He probably didn’t know what to make of the weekend, since for once it wasn’t all about him...

The leaves are changing as fast as David is! We spent a lot of time on the floor this week, getting crawled on and drooled upon. Congratulations to J and Charity, the newlyweds, and many thanks to the Zembrodts for watching David while we got to spend an evening out at the wedding, enjoying ourselves like grown-ups

After a very long day of travel, we spent a lovely weekend in Huntsville, Alabama with the Diekempers, Middletons, and more family to see Emily’s cousin Ellen marry Kurt Smalley.

We visited the Second Annual Fishers Rennaissance Festival; David wasn’t sure what to make of all of it, other than there were a lot of wenches with heaping bosoms, he got to try little bites of Mommy’s turkey leg, and he decidedly was not in the mood to be a pirate. He did enjoy the bus ride, though, and the rest of the weekend gave us beautiful weather, some happy time together, and another Colts victory!

Fall draws near and David expands his palate. On the menu this weekend: avocado, zucchini, Cheerios, mangoes, and “pasta dinner”. Way to go, little pincher grip, and Go Colts!

We brought David down to WRG for a unique photo opportunity (because really, he doesn’t have picture taken enough). Many thanks to Susan for letting us indulge her and for helping us get the pictures. We also got Colts fever and dressed David accordingly (and yes, we actually watched football on TV)
